How to Release Trauma
Trauma is the result of an unpleasant, unexpected situation over which you have no control. You may be able to repress the negative emotions to some degree, but the trauma is always present in the background. Any stressful situation can cause it to manifest itself.
• Schedule time to exercise regularly. Exercise helps regulate hormones and promotes general well-being.
• Step 2
Consider aromatherapy. When molecules from the essential oils enter the nasal passages, they are absorbed by the many cells in the passage lining. These in turn send messages to the part of the brain that deals with emotions and hormones (the limbic system). In this way, aromatherapy helps release negative emotions and trauma.
• Step 3
Use essential oils. Rub the oil on your forehead and the soles of your feet, and behind your ears and chest. The oil is absorbed through the skin and deposits itself in the fatty tissues; thus, working itself into the body.
• Step 4
Look into acupuncture. The practitioner concentrates on the acupressure points dealing with your particular problem. Trauma and injury cause energy blocks and interrupts the flow of qi (vital force). Acupuncture helps release this blocked energy and regain balance.
• Step 5
Inquire about moxibustion. This is a Chinese heat-therapy which involves burning moxa (dried mugwart leaves). The practitioner burns the moxa over the corresponding acupressure points or organs needing attention. This method also helps release blocked energy and leads to healing and releasing trauma.
